GPATGPAT 2017 - AICTE conducted Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) 2017 on January 28. The official body has declared GPAT score card on February 9, 2017 at 10 am. Candidates can download thier scorecard from GPAT by entering email id and password. Earlier, the GPAT result and merit list was announced on February 7. GPAT 2017 admit card was available for downloading and was issued only to those candidates who had successfully registered for the online test before the last date of application. The admit card of GPAT was issued by exam conducting authority in online mode only through link provided here and also on candidates registered Email Id, AICTE had not sent admit card of GPAT 2017 in offline mode via post.

GPAT is national level entrance exam administered by AICTE every year as per the directions of MHRD for admissions to M.Pharma courses. Candidates who appeared in GPAT 2017 can pursue post-graduate pharmacy programmes from any of the various AICTE approved colleges across India accepting GPAT scores. GPAT Cutoff 2017 

AICTE determines GPAT Cutoff 2017 as per the minimum qualifying marks and number of qualified aspirants. The Cutoff of GPAT 2017 is criteria for shortlisting candidates for admissions to Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharmacy). The minimum qualifying criteria for each category is as under -

GPAT Result 2017

AICTE has declared GPAT 2017 result cum merit list on February 7. The score card will be available from February 9. Candidates will be able to check their results cum score of GPAT 2017 by providing roll number through the official link. The results of GPAT 2017 will mention rank, qualifying status and score in the PG entrance exam besides category and roll number of test takers. The GPAT 2017 result declaration process will be followed by issuance of score card.


GPAT Score Card 2017

Candidates who appeared for the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test can check their scores of GPAT 2017, which will be announced by AICTE on February 9. The test taker will need to provide e-mail and password at ‘view score card’ panel on the official website to check GPAT 2016 scores. The GPAT 2017 score card will be valid for only a year for obtaining scholarship in Masters in Pharmacy programme. In case, if any candidate is interested in pursuing Ph.D. programme in Pharmacy, the score card of GPAT 2017 will be valid for three years for availing National Doctoral Scholarship. As per the previous year’s GPAT 2016 score card, as many as 2711 candidates were declared qualified and another 26323 not qualified for the PG scholarships.


GPAT Counselling 2017

Candidates can participate in counselling of GPAT 2017 after the declaration of result and All India Merit List. GPAT 2017 counselling will be organised by individual institutes across India. The qualifying candidates of the pharmacy aptitude test can attend counselling of GPAT 2017 in a number of colleges across India.

As per GPAT 2017 important dates, the admission test for M.Pharma programme was held on January 28. GPAT Admit Card 2017

The exam council issued admit card of GPAT 2017 in online mode on January 16, 2017 from 2:00 pm. Candidates whose application forms were received by the council could download GPAT 2017 admit card by entering mandatory fields including GPAT 2017 application form number and date of birth/password. The admit card/ hall ticket of GPAT 2017 mentioned the test details, test centre details and candidature details. Applicants were advised to cross-check the exam date, exam timing and test venue from the GPAT hall ticket. In case, of any discrepancy in their names or any other relevant information as inscribed on the GPAT admit card 2017, candidates needed to bring it to the notice of officials. No candidate, in any circumstance were allowed to appear in the M.Pharma aptitude test, without a valid GPAT 2017 admit card (hall ticket). AICTE had uploaded GPAT admit card on its official website. Candidates could download GPAT admit card by entering login details.


GPAT Eligibility Criteria 2017

AICTE mentioned GPAT 2017 eligibility criteria for admissions to postgraduate pharmacy programmes. Candidates needed to ensure fulfilment of their basic minimum qualification as per the eligibility criteria of GPAT 2017 before they registered and filled online applications of GPAT. As per the eligibility criteria of GPAT, applicants needed to be an Indian citizen, holding B.Pharma degree or appearing in the final year of B.Pharma programme. Those candidates, who are found not meeting GPAT 2017 eligibility conditions, may be liable for punishment and their candidature will be cancelled at any stage of the admission process.


GPAT Admission Process 2017

 

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) administered GPAT is being conducted this year for admissions to a number of colleges offering Masters in Pharmacy (M.Phrama) programme and other pharmacy programmes for the academic session 2017-19. The admission process of GPAT 2017 begins with exam notification and beginning of application in the month of November 2016, while the exam was held in January 2017 and declaration of results in the late January. The test-takers will be admitted through a counselling process based on scores of GPAT 2017.

GPAT Application Form 2017

AICTE released application of GPAT 2017 on October 10, 2016. GPAT 2017 application forms could be filled online till December 25, 2016, as the applicants needed to register for the online application process of Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test. Candidates also needed to pay the application fee of requisite amount in any of the online payment system using Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking. GPAT applicants were advised to keep a copy of the filled application form for future correspondences.

GPAT Syllabus 2017

Based on syllabus of GPAT 2017, questions are set for the pharmacy entrance exam. GPAT 2017 syllabus mentions important subjects and their topics required for the AICTE administered Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test. Some of the important topics, as per the syllabus of GPAT 2017 are–

GPAT Exam Pattern 2017

All India Council for Technical Education mentioned exam pattern of GPAT 2017 including total number of questions, total marks and marking scheme besides time duration and exam mode. As per GPAT 2017 exam pattern, the exam was held in computer based mode comprising as many as 125 questions of four marks each. Following negative marking policy, each incorrect response will lead to deduction of one mark from the total scored marks. The test was held for three hours (180 minutes).

GPAT Answer Key 2017

Since the admission test for M.Pharma programmes is online, GPAT 2017 answer keys cannot be published under any circumstances. In case any coaching institute or website claims to publish the answer key of GPAT 2017, please avoid such claims as they may lead to any traps. FAQs Related to GPAT 2017:

 

Ques- Can I take the test from any computer?

Ans - No. A candidate needed to take the test on a pre-assigned computer at the allotted GPAT 2017 exam centre only.

 

Ques- What does a Computer Based Test look like?

Ans - AICTE has provided GPAT trial test facility for test takers to get familiar with Computer based test. GPAT trial test was available on the website www.aicte-gpat.in from 15th Dec 2016.

 

Ques- How many questions are there in the test?

Ans - GPAT 2017 was based on 125 objective type questions carrying 4 marks each.

 

Ques- Will there be negative marking in GPAT exam?

Ans - Yes. In case of each wrong attempt, one mark will be deducted from total scored marks.

 

Ques- Is there any age restriction for appearing in GPAT?

Ans - No, there is no age restriction for appearing in GPAT.

 

Ques- I do not have my own e-mail id. Can I use someone else' to register for GPAT?

Ans - Candidates need to have a valid and unique email address of their own which must be active at least till the admission procedure is over. In case candidates do not have e-mail address then, they are advised to create new e-mail id before registering for GPAT.

 

Ques- How do I select Test City for appearing in GPAT? What if I do not get my choice of Test City?

Ans - Candidates can select up-to three cities in India selected in order of preference. Candidates need to select most preferred as Test City 1, Next most preferred as Test City 2 and Next to Next most preferred city as Test City 3. Candidates will be allotted Test City 1 as test centre but in case of non-availability, Test City 2 will be allotted to the candidates.  

 

Ques- What are the different Time Slots of the Test?

Ans - There was no different time slots. Test began at 2:30 PM on 28th Jan 2017.29th Jan 2017 is a reserved day. Candidates were required to arrive at the test centre on or before 1:00 PM for Security checks, Identity verification, and check-in.

 

Ques- What is the reporting time for the examinations?

Ans - Candidates needed to visit at least 90 minutes prior to the scheduled time for GPAT i.e. 2.30 pm. Candidates reaching after 1 pm were not permitted inside the exam centre.

 

Ques- What is the identification documents required to be carried to the test centre?

Ans - Candidates appearing for GPAT needed to carry documents as listed below -

1. Self-attested copy of GPAT Admit Card 2017 with recent passport size photo affixed on it

2. Original and valid (not expired) photo identification proof which includes - Voter ID, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card Driver's license, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, UID card or a notarized Affidavit (in English) with Photo, Signature, Date of Birth and Residential Address.

3. SC/ST candidates are required to bring the valid caste certificate in Original and an ATTESTED photocopy

4. Physically Disabled candidates needed to carry valid Disability certificate in Original and an ATTESTED photocopy (ATTESTATION CAN BE DONE BY INSTITUTE HEAD ALSO)

Note: No facility for keeping personal belongings will be provided at the test centre, so candidates must not bring them to the test centre.

 

Ques- What are the permitted materials I can bring with me to the test centre?

Ans - Candidates needed not carry any personal items to the test centre, including wrist-watch, cellphones, calculators, etc.

 

Ques- Is any break time provided during the test?

Ans - Candidates were not provided breaks in between the exam duration.

 

Ques- Will I be provided with sheets for rough work and calculations during the test?

Ans - At the test centre, each candidate were seated at a desk with a computer terminal and he/she was provided with a scratch paper for calculations. Rough work could not be done on any other paper/sheet, as nothing was allowed inside the testing room. On completion of the test, candidates had to hand over all the scratch paper to the invigilator.

 

Ques- Can I leave early, if I complete my exam before three hours?

Ans - No. even if you complete the exam before the scheduled end time, you will not be allowed to leave the exam hall. You are allowed to leave the exam only after the scheduled three hours of exam are over. You cannot leave in between the exam even if you finish the exam early.

 

Ques- I am a PWD candidate with low vision / blindness / cerebral palsy. What special accommodation will be provided to me on the test day?

Ans - Visually Impaired and Cerebral Palsy candidates are allowed to bring a Scribe/ Reader as per scribe form mentioned on the GPAT website. AICTE also provides scribe facility for such candidates, if the candidate so opts for that. Candidate will be given an opportunity to interact with the scribe a day before the examination. After meeting with the identified scribe, candidate will be required to submit an undertaking.

Candidates will also be provided with a time extension of one hour for computer based test

 

Ques- What will be the time extension given to Visually Impaired or Cerebral Palsy candidates?

Ans - Visually Impaired or Cerebral Palsy Candidates will be given a time extension of twenty minutes for every hour of the test, thus for 3 hour test you will get a total of 'One Hour' extra.

 

Ques- What are the eligibility criteria for a scribe/reader?

Ans - Eligibility Criteria for Scribe are -

1. He/she must not be a family member or a friend of candidates

2. Scribe must not be involved preparation for GPAT 2017 along with the candidate

3. He/she must be less than 19 years of age as on 28th January, 2017

4. He/she must not be more qualified than appearing candidate

Note: The age certificate of Scribe need to be presented at the Test Centre. A scribe will not be permitted to assist a candidate in case the above criteria are not met.

Which universities / institutes are accepting GPAT scores for admission?

All AICTE approved Institutes / Departments of Universities accept GPAT scores. The specific notifications issued by Universities and State Governments are available at GPAT website; aicte-gpat.in.

 

Ques- If I have done Graduation through PART TIME or DISTANCE LEARNING MODE, am I eligible to apply for GPAT exam?

Ans - Yes; Candidates passed who have done graduation through Part Time or Distance Learning Mode approved by respective statutory bodies.

 

Ques- Who is eligible to take the test under the Physically Disabled category?

Ans - As per the “Persons with Disability Act, 1995”, candidate appearing for GPAT in India qualifies to be a Physically Disabled (PD) candidate if he/she suffers from any of the listed disabilities, to the extent of not less than 40% as certified by a medical authority. Categories listed under PWD by AICTE are -

Ques- Can I give GPAT exam via paper pencil mode later in case I missed the Online examination?

Ans - GPAT is a computer based online exam scheduled on 28th January 2017. 29th January 2017 is a reserved day. It cannot be taken in paper-pencil mode.
 
Ques- I belong to Bangalore. I want to take admission in B. Pharmacy. Should I need to appear in GPAT 2017? Is the test valid for Karnataka students?
Ans - GPAT 2017 is not meant for admission into B. Pharmacy course for any state in India. For admission into B. Pharmacy course every state has different policy. GPAT 2017 is valid only for admissions to postgraduate programme in Pharmacy offered by colleges of all the states and Union Territories in India.
 
Ques- I am a B. Pharmacy third year student. Am I eligible for GPAT 2017? 
Ans - Candidates in third year of B. Pharmacy programme are not eligible to appear in GPAT 2017 examination.
 
Ques- I am a Nepali student studying in B. Pharmacy final year in India. Can I appear in GPAT 2017 examination?
Ans - Yes, you can appear in GPAT 2017 examination but your admission into a postgraduate programme in pharmacy and scholarship will be governed by the rules/norms set by MHRD, Government of India.
 
Ques- I belong to SC/ST category. How many seats in M. Pharmacy are reserved for SC/ST category students? or If I qualify in GPAT 2017 Examination then am I assured of scholarship in M. Pharmacy?
Ans - Candidates qualifying GPAT 2017 examination with a score card reading “Qualified for scholarship and admission into M. Pharmacy” are eligible for scholarship in M. Pharmacy.
Seats of M. Pharmacy programme are reserved as per state/central government policy.
Scholarship to the GPAT 2017 qualified candidates would be given by AICTE as per the rules/norms prevailing at that time.
 
Ques- Am I eligible for registration for Ph. D. after qualifying in GPAT 2017 examination?
Ans - Although the GPAT 2017 score card is valid only for one year but this is for the purpose of obtaining scholarship in M. Pharmacy course. After completing M. Pharm Degree if candidate is interested in getting registered for Ph.D. degree then GPAT score card is valid beyond one year and the applicant need not appear in Ph.D. entrance/eligibility examination conducted by Indian universities
